    • Check that all network cables are plugged in.
    • Verify that flight mode is turned off.
    • Make sure that your wireless switch is turned on.
    • See if you can connect to mobile broadband.
    • Restart your router.

If that's your Home page for IE, just use google.com, not all that http stuff. Plus it's missing the .com.

    Well done that man TC.
Doing what you stated above got that sorted, thanks.

However I'm still splashing my way through trying to get all my saved data from the old HD active again.
I just can't get my Favourites back into IE and the same for my emails too.
I don't want to b¬¬¬er everything up so I'll tread carefully and only work with guidance.

    Regards

    Hello, just to recap.
I've got my pc up and running with a new hard drive.
Had 95% of the HD data recovered.
    Still need to recover the;
    A] Windows Live Mail account
    AND
B] My Favourites listing from the IE site.
The new Windows update has made my PC look different which is compromising me somewhat too.

Can anybody give me the steps I need to take to complete the above recoveries.

    Thanks

See here for info on: How to install Windows Live Mail on Windows 10

It's really not supported under Windows 10 so you should seriously look at another E-mail client or even look at the built-in Mail client. If you have Microsoft Office then look at Outlook.

There are articles on the internet for moving from WLM to either of the above.

Scan with Farbar Recovery Scan Tool

Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool x86 or Farbar Recovery Scan Tool x64 and save it to your Desktop.

Please download and save it to your Desktop

    • Right-click on FRST icon and select Run as Administrator to start the tool.
    • When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
    • Make sure that Addition option is checked.
    • Press Scan button and wait.
    • The tool will produce two logfiles on your desktop: FRST.txt and Addition.txt.

Please upload FRST.txt and Addition.txt files into your next reply.

Hello FreeBooter, just a question about the Farbar Recovery Scan Tool x64.
As well as the disclaimer it says do not run as it may harm my PC?
Can I ignore this safely and run it anyway?

Ztrucker - Rich trying the Windows Live mail install gets a little complex so I've called a stop for now.

If you don't know how to use the tool then it can be harmful so if you want to run the tool follow my instructions.

This program will display detailed information about the Windows Registry loading points, services, driver services, Netsvcs entries, known DLLs, drives, and partition specifications. It will also list some important system files that could be patched by malware.
