It's 2019 do I ditch the bios bootup password?

    Hello,

I've used a bios bootup password on my old laptop for many years. I've just got a 2018 Lenovo X1 Carbon which currently does not have a bios boot password. With changes in technology (my decision to use a bios password was very long ago) I wonder if there's still good sense in using a bios password, or perhaps this is no longer so important in 2019? My laptop uses bitlocker.

    Thank you

    Matt

I would only use it if multiple users used the laptop. If it's just you, I wouldn't

Or if using the Notebook/Laptop for business travel it would provide more security against loss or theft.

thanks for the comments. Yes the laptop does do some travel, so perhaps it's worth continuing with a bios boot password.
