[Windows Security] Automatic Sample Submission

Countless times I get this security notification


And countless times I choose "Dismiss".

How can I stop this notification, short of "Turn on" automatic sample submission?

Well, you could turn it on. When enabled Defender can 'block at first sight' new unknown viruses.

But if that is not to your taste, the try clicking the 'Dismiss' in Defender's Windows Security app rather than on the notification. Usually a dismiss from within the app is permanent. If you don't see a 'dismiss' there, turn on automatic sample submission then turn it off again.

Do come back and report. I know that other 'dismiss' links in Windows Security will 'hold', but it will be useful to know if that one does too.

You can't.
Only reprieve and it's only slight is installing a different antivirus.
But then the message only changes.
Fall in line with the rest of the borg.
