Disabling Defender real-time protection let me still scan folder tree?

Assume I disable real-time protection of Windows defender.

To be sure: This does NOT mean that I disable Defender completely.
I can still use it to scan a dir tree or even a whole partition on demand (e.g. by context menu).

    Correct?

Assume I disable real-time protection of Windows defender.
If you disable that by installing a 3rd party AV program, no- even if you try to use this:
Add or Remove Scan with Windows Defender Context Menu in Windows 10

If you have a 3rd party AV program installed, the Scan with Windows Defender context menu will be disabled by default until the 3rd party AV program is uninstalled.
