Bitlocker Enabled on New HP Laptop - Disable or Keep?

I just bought a new HP ProBook and I've just noticed it is supplied with Bitlocker enabled on the system drive.

I only use the laptop in a secure location for general home PC use. Are there any disadvantages of keeping Bitlocker enabled on the drive? Macrium Reflect works OK but my Partition Magic bootable USB stick doesn't find the bitlocked partitions. I also need to do a BIOS update since the latest version was not installed. Are there issues updating the BIOS with bitlocker enabled?

For example, could you trigger system restore from a Win 10 boot disk?

I'm no expert on that, but it's an aspect worth reviewing.

Thanks. I disabled Bitlocker considering how I use the PC. It only took 10 minutes on anew PC.

Good choice. If you do not have a dedicated IT staff, bitlocker is nothing but a catastrophe waiting to happen.

Bitlocker is not available in Win 10 Home. So you have Pro, right?
So I'm left to wonder ... why did you pay extra Windows Pro if you're not going to use the extra features of Pro?

Pro was part of the standard bundle for a Probook. I sometimes use bitlocker for removable drives and other Pro features are useful.
