Can't Download Anything In Chrome - Keeps Saying Virus Detected

I cannot download anything in Chrome, not even Chrome extensions from the store. I keep getting "Failed - Virus Detected". I have disabled Kaspersky, MalwareBytes, AdGuard and even my VPN. I have followed all the instructions (Group Policies and Registry entries) for the Windows Attachment Manager, but still no go. Even in Incognito tabs will not work.

    Chrome v76.0.3809.100
    Windows 10 64-bit Build 1903

    Please help!

Screenshot, filename and website that you are trying to download from.

On Chrome have you tried going settings - advanced - and scroll down to the bottom of the page
And then click on clean up computer

    and see if that helps.

    Hi.
    Here's what I would do.
(Do not download Avast from a third party website...)
Uninstall Chrome, then run Ccleaner (free) to get rid of all the leftovers.

    Download and run ADWCleaner (free).
AdwCleaner - Free Adware Cleaner & Removal Tool | Malwarebytes
Post anything it finds here for evaluation.

Enable View>Hidden Files in File Explorer, and delete any Chrome folders you find in Program files, Program files x86 and Program data (a hidden file).

Download a fresh copy of Chrome directly from Google, not some 3rd-party website.
Install it, but DO NOT LOGIN. Logging in and syncing can carry over problems from other installations.

Try installing a simple extension like HTTPS Everywhere and see if it works.

Let us know how it goes.

Or try running the cleanup tool.

EDIT: Link removed. See post below.

    Download Chrome Cleanup Tool
That tool is now built into Chrome and can be found at chrome://settings/reset BC needs to remove that download link, since that tool by itself is no more. Remove unwanted ads, pop-ups & malware - Computer - Google Chrome Help

I don't know what happened, but it has fixed itself overnight after weeks of not being able to download!
