    @remostalin -

This could also be malware (i.e. virus) exhibiting symptoms similar to ransomware.
There are a couple of ways to remedy this situation. Both have pros and cons.

    1) What AV and FW are you using? Be very specific.
    2) Do you have a recent, restorable backup of your entire system?

This is also worth considering if you can get in deep enough:

Emsisoft | Emergency Kit Pro: Portable Malware & Virus Scanner (free trial)

    Thanks.

    Hi.

It is important to know what antivirus and firewall you are using, if any.
Windows Defender, I believe, is enabled by default on a clean Windows 10 install.

Try the link above and post back.

So you reinstalled Windows 10 and lost your files?
If you copied back those files to the new install, they must be scanned immediately, as they might be infected.

Scan all drives with Avast. Or, use the link I provided above.

You can also use this to try, as well... run on-demand only!

Malwarebytes Download - Free Virus Scan & Virus Protection Tool | Malwarebytes

    FWIW.

    I'm a bit confused here.

    Take a look at this...

    The No More Ransom Project

    Scan all drives.
