    Sandbox

Where is a good place to read about Windows Sandbox?
Where is a good place here on tenforums to discuss Sandbox and ask questions about it?

I finally have 1903 installed on my main PC (Lenovo K450) so I can start looking at it and immediately have several questions that I'm sure have already been asked and answered here somewhere.

    1. Says not activated
    2. How do I control Desktop setup so I can make it more user friendly when I 1st start it (pre-configure)?
    3. How do I access existing files and folders on the host.

    Thanks Shawn

I'm reading through this thread again too: Windows Sandbox coming to Windows Insiders in Windows 10 build 18305

This is info I've found so far:

How to configure the Windows Sandbox

    Windows Sandbox - Config Files

    How to configure Windows Sandbox

Looks like there are only four profile options so far:

    • Enable or Disable the virtualized GPU.
    • Enable or Disable network access
    • Shared Folders – Share folders from the host with read or write access
    • Startup Script – allows you to run different commands at startup

    Powershell doesn't work in Sandbox:

    C:\Users\WDAGUtilityAccount>powershell
Version v4.0.30319 of the .NET Framework is not installed and it is required to run version 3 of Windows PowerShell.

Launching Powershell from Start menu doesn't work either, window opens and closes immediately.

Leaves no way to run a Powershell script.

Submitted to feedback hub: Powershell doesn't work in Sandbox

Figured out how to place the standard icons on the Desktop by merging a registry file called from a logon script (batch file). Trying to arrange the icons is a bit more difficult but I'll get it working soon. Playing with using DesktopOK to save the icon setup I want then executing DesktopOK from a mapped folder passing it the ini file I want it to use to layout the icons. Got some timing issues but I'll get it working eventually.

Fun playing with this but it sure is limited.

Just found out I can't copy files from a mapped drive to the Sandbox desktop. Was okay copying to the Download folder. Did not try copying to the Desktop folder.
