    Defender shield in taskbar

    Hello.
I have four pc's that display Windows Defender shield in the taskbar and all have a green check mark but one. It seems to have just started this behavior. All looks good when I open to look at the condition but it just seems odd and suspicious. Anyone have an idea what it may be, or is it not anything to be concerned about? Thanks

A yellow check means a virus scan is due and red check means malware has been detected

Windows Defender works just like traffic lights.

    Green - Everything is okay.
Yellow - Warning. Something requires your attention.
    Red - Issues found. Malware/Viruses.

What do you mean by "there is no checkmark". There is always one.

That's my point. 3 Pc's have green check marks on the Defender shield in the taskbar.
The concerning PC has no checkmark of any kind, just a plain shield. It used to but has lost it in the past week. Scans look good, been restarted several times, have tried all the common troubleshooting. Just seems something isn't right.

Try deleting the file IconCache.db in folder C:\Users\{your name}\AppData\Local then reboot. If that fails, try an in place repair install Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade
