    Answers Knowledgebase - Avira Support

I hear you on clean install but I would try this only on a spare disk. I have to believe Avira works with Windows 10, otherwise they would be out of business.

You could try these commands to do so reset in your network.

Run the following six bolded commands. Use a Command Prompt(admin) or Powershell(admin)

Do not key in info in brackets, there for your information.

ipconfig /flushdns (Clear the dns cache)
nbtstat -RR (release and refresh NetBIOS names)
netsh int ip reset (reset ip settings)
netsh winsock reset (Reset Winsock Catalog)
netsh interface ip delete arpcache (reset Address Resolution Protocol cache)
    netsh advfirewall reset
In this last period i have already tryed to run this commands about one or two weeks ago but it's not resolve the issue....I found them in some forums searching myself problably also before to open this thread here.

Yesterday i do my last test........ i do a clean installation of avira.... i do this:
    1) Use RevoUnistaller 4.1.0...... complete uninstall whit after deletion of all remain registry voices.
    2) Restart my Windows.....
    3) At restart i checked if all folder or Avira has been deleted.... i use that official registry cleaner:
Scarica Avira Registry Cleaner | Official Website

    4) Another restart..... download the latest version of avira and reinstall from beginning.
    5) Put the license........at complete of setup avira suggest to me to update virus definition (first default operation after first installation).

I do this....... FAIL whit same errors. No Internet connection errors.

At this point I have made this decision... i can't hold my pc without one a fully functional Antivirus. Yes i know i can use the manual update but it's not a good solution :)
My decision it's........ i do another full uninstallation and i choose to install a free solution of Avast....

Avast apparently it's works...... it's totally different and I must take confidence whit him.

In the coming days I will even try to call Avira's telephone support if needed.......If I have news, maybe I'll keep you updated ok ?

    *EDIT*
About the license i can add some information about it:
You read it's a Pro License....... it's not a my personal license but it is a valid license held by a small company I know and I was allowed to install it on my pc at my home.
This small company used this same license on one other pc.... it's a Windows 7 setup... here Avira it's works whitout any problems and the license it's reported it's works (but this company use a different internet provider compared to what I have at home. At home i have a telecom fttc for example.... instead they have a vodafone business...)

To contact avira support I have to go to them... get all possibly info about license like email address attached and it's try to explain all situation.
Installing Avast could be a temporary solution.......... :)

    *EDIT 2*
Why did I choose Avast ? Maybe it could have been useful to try to install the free suite of Avira and see if also here i continue to obtain same errors........... i use the free suite for years but recently they completely upset it and use the pro version it improved the thing a little until the problems described appeared.

    *EDIT 3*
    Bad English ? It's a Google Translate issue... i'm italian friends :)

    Hello friend.

I strongly advice against using AVAST. It was a good product earlier but it's prone to issues lately. Why not using built-in Windows Defender (which works quite well by the way)?

Only Windows Defender ? I remember in the pass the Windows Defender it's offers really minimal protection and how to update its definitions via windows update he never completely convinced me.
Can you get me into specifics ?
Now that I don't have a real antivirus license change would not be a problem ....

From w8 onwards Windows Defender is now fully fledged antivirus solution. And it keeps getting better and better.

I'm using Avira free for years.
Last month I saw that Avira wasn't working properly. It tried a self update and failed.
I downloaded the latest version and tried to install over. Failed.
I tried to uninstall and reinstall the latest version. Failed

    Solved
I uninstall, did a search on register for Avira and deleted all entry s .
Rebooted and install the latest version. Success.

I have happy for you but i made this and not resolve my issue. For moment i pass to another suite free (in my case Avast) instead using a licensed avira.
In future i need some other test......
