    VPNs and File Hosters

Hi. I've been experimenting with a free VPN and have found that it's very difficult, if not impossible, to download files from the likes of zippyshare, depositfiles etc.

Would this still be a problem with a paid VPN?

    Hi there

    two issues :

    1) Up to each VPN -- some have certan rules about using filesharing sites - Piracy concerns, url blocks in the country that the VPN is hosted in etc etc. Note each country has different laws over what gets blocked or not -- even a VPN has to obey the rules of the country it's situated in.

    2) some of the file sharing sites themselves often have a "Suck you in" sort of policy -- make it rediculously hard to download anything as a FREE user or have really slow speed or download limit or both. They want to make you PAY for fast access.

Personally I'd just use TOR if I want to download anything from "Blocked sites" -- VPN's IMO are only good either as a workplace private VPN for working remotely or to be able to access streaming content where its blocked or service rapidly inferior to where you are -- e.g NETFLIX USA is streets ahead if what's available in some parts of Europe.

    Cheers
