Suspected Phishing email from domain verifiedvsa.com

I just received a suspicious email as follows:

Subject: I can ruin your life. I have infected your device 8 months ago with a tr...

and then it cuts off. I did not open the email.

It sounds like a phishing attempt but could this be real?

Using Win 10 Home and Windows Defender.

Ignore those, as long as you have adequate backups.

Have you run several system scans?

Thank you. It looked to be phishing but not used to the "I'm going to ruin your life" subject. A bit nastier than click here to login to your bank account.

I ran a full scan and an offline scan with Windows Defender and everything is clear.

I get those too. Do they have like a confirmation string in the email? They sometimes accuse me of gonig to certain sites but then cite the wrong email that I never use to sign up with so I know its fake.

It you want a second opinion, you can install something like Malwarebytes or Hitman Pro free version and run a scan

    Thanks for the rep.

A Malwarebytes scan was clean as was TDSSKiller. Thanks again.

Sadly, I also get these pathetic emails.

Often start out with things like "you've been hacked" before getting more aggressive with what you received.

I always delete them immediately and run a quick scan just to make sure.
