Defender finds threats but can't do anything with them

Defender picked up some dodgy .exe files from one of those linkbucks type websites that got downloaded, it spotted them which is great but now they are stuck in quarantine and I can't delete them, I tell it to remove and it just sits there with the dots flying across and does nothing.

There are no exe files in my Downloads folder so where is it finding it?

So I've done an offline scan and now it says the two entries are "abandoned". are they gone?

Download malwarebytes and run it, should clean all of them up.

    Hi there
best solution in all these things is to simply restore a clean image from backup --much better than trying to clean infected computer -- if you haven't got backups start taking them now regularly -- programs like macrium are free and don't take long to run.

Trying to clean an infected computer is a bit like asking a pilot to take a defective plane into the air and then fix it while flying !!!!

I don't think its infected though, chrome blocked these files anyhoo. There's nothing in that directory now. I've done malwarebytes and it found nothing.
