    Scam Control Software on Laptop

    Hello folks!!

It has been a while since I have been here. My days of providing advice are over, since a couple of strokes took care of them. This time would like to be at the recipient end, and ask for some help from the Windows10 team I consider the best.

The Laptop is a Lenovo Ideapad and has Windows 10 Home installed. It belongs to an 82 yr old person that does not have a clue of how a Tech Ruhan - Supremo program somehow got installed.

There is no sign of it In CP > Programs and Features.
The Revo Uninstaller does not pick it up.

Bogus tech support pop-ups are not displaying. Only the program is on the Desktop.
The owner was not able to login with her password, it would not work. (Got problem solved with Brink's help.)

    Starting off running Malwarebytes.

Is there an antivirus program that can be set to target the Tech Ruhan - Supremo?

Also, any other suggestions are greatly appreciated.

    Thanks for your help!

If it's supremo remote desktop - it runs without installation. Check this:

Uninstall Supremo in just a few steps

Edit: Already posted above. You could also run a UVK Scan then see what shows up in the scan log.

    clam1952 and Callender,

Thank you very much for your replies.

Looked in Services, and found no reference to Supremo.

Looking for Supremo.exe, but cannot find it. Any suggestions as to where to look?

On UVK, is there some info on how to use it? Also, is it free?

    Thanks for your help.

RE: UVK. It's free. you can create a log as per the screenshot. Then if you find anything you can use a script to remove it. Basically you can either open the log as a text file and review it or open it with UVK log analyser and create a repair script.

If you find anything you would most likely use either of these commands to remove it:

    UVK scripting commands -

    Example script:

Edit: Just to say that the recent files search might find the .exe as it should output a log of all executables created during the last 30 days.

I reckon you can read the log and find anything suspicious but if you don't spot anything you could upload the log in .txt format for others to look at.

I won't be checking this thread until tomorrow.

    Callender,

    Thanks for all the info!

UVK was very helpful. Used the Registry Seeker, and found some 25+ entries dealing with Tech Ruhan - Supremo.

Nuked them, and found the ,exe keeping the program alive. It was TechRuhan.exe, vs. Supremo.exe. It is now gone, and the program vanished from the Desktop.

Once again, appreciate the great help you folks provided.

    Have a Happy Easter!!!
