Can't turn off WD Real-time protection

Real-time protection has a problem with the install file for the new version of MiniTool Partition Wizard, so I need to turn it off until installation is complete. But I can't since the settings switch is grayed out and there is a red message that "This setting is managed by your administrator." That's strange since I am the administrator. Anybody know what I should do to fix this? I'm running 1806 Pro.

    Try this:
    1. Right-click on Start then, from the power menu, choose Windows PowerShell (Admin).

    2. When the PowerShell window appears, enter the following and press RETURN:
    Code:
    Set-MpPreference -DisableRealtimeMonitoring $true
If all goes well then you'll see a notification popup to 'Turn on virus protection'.

    3. Install what you need to then reverse the Real-time Protection setting using:
    Code:
    Set-MpPreference -DisableRealtimeMonitoring $false

I use this with Windows 10 Home 1709. Hopefully it will ignore the policy restriction that appears to be set on your device.

    Hope this helps...

Thanks very much for your help. I'll hang onto if in case there are further problems, but everything seems to be OK now. I went into Group Policies and made sure everything relating to Windows Defender Antivirus was set to "Not Configured." Once I finished that, not only was Real-time protection not running, I couldn't turn it back on. But after doing too many things to recount or even remember, it suddenly started back up normally and without the administrator control message. I honestly have no idea exactly what did it, but am grateful something did.
