    Thats a good list, but Im surprised the in-built Windows CIPHER command isn't listed for wiping free disk space. Maybe it never came across to W10?

    The one I always use to do a complete disc wipe is the "Secure Erase" utility that is bundled with PartEdMagic.
    It is payware now, but the "last free version" has this function too and is widely archived.
    On advantage for SSD's is that is knows the command to do a one-shot depolarization command which resets the entire SSD to new.

    Just a note:

    SSD's are easy due to their technology. Just purge the cells.
    It's the HDD's that this article is heavy on and for good reason.

    Yep. Parted Magic 2019 (and earlier) good for SSD's with Secure Erase.
    EaseUS Partition Master is also just fine and has a free version. (I use it.)
