    Mom's PC keeps getting Popups

    Hello

Keep getting these popups to call Microsoft due to PC infection, i know it's possibly trying to install Ransomware on, told her to ctrl alt, delete and end task, and conducting online scan now with Eset online scan, then Malwarebytes afterwards

Real time protection is Avast Free 19.1.2360, same as My Systems

Anything else i should do to solve this matter?

    Ad ADWcleaner to the list.

It would be wise to search with part of "exact message" to find cleaning procedure. Post it here and somebody would give you better advice..

Will Do, and will try to get the exact message, and go from there, it's came up two to three times while she was trying to use the PC, browsing somewhere with Microsoft Edge

Note: All Systems some reason have PUP.Optional.Brighttag detection for some reason

    Eset online scan found nothing
    Avast Full Scan found nothing

    Hi.
    Here's what I would do:

    1. download ADWCleaner, Ccleaner free version and Malwarebytes free version

    2. run ADWCleaner, let it clean and reboot the system

    3. disconnect from the internet

    4. run Ccleaner on all the web browsers on the system (whether they are used or not), clearing out cache, history, cookies, and session.

    5. open an admin command prompt and flush the dns cache by typing ipconfig /flushdns

    6. reconnect to the internet and run Malwarebytes Antimalware, being sure to run a custom scan on the entire C drive, and check the box to scan for rootkits.

    That should do it.

Ok will get that done asap here, and then check the other networked systems, as even when i run ADW cleaner on the other systems always find Brighttag detection, Malwarebytes on other systems clean, but will perform those steps, and have it all back to normal asap here

I'm guessing it's coming in on the back of a free program that's being installed on all the systems.

Time to manually disinfect your Google Chrome profile. Go to c:\users\%username%\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default -> back it up and them manually remove everything except those files (bookmarks, cookies, etc) you want to keep. I find this is the only way to remove a recurring Chrome infection (where you run AdwCleaner and the infection keeps coming up).

Any Video Converter has been a suspect in the past. Handbrake would be a good alternative.
