I THINK I may have sorted it.

I clicked on the " Configure Kaspsersky Total Security Notifications ", and unticked Notify about events.

So I assume that Kaspersky will still work, blocking that annoying adware pest, but not alerting me every second!

Thanks again for assistning me. I can mark this as solved now :)

    Again thanks!

    Hi PrivacyFreak.

Now im home from work I will try to scan my laptop with Malware ADW cleaner and report back.

    Thanks.

** No. That didn't get rid of it grrr. lol.
Will try your other solution. **
So, AdwCleaner did not find anything. Did you also try the cleanup option in Chrome's advanced settings?

You must understand that the source of the problem is still present on your system. For all we know, it could be a false positive but as long as KTS keeps blocking the download, it's all good.

If you're up to it, you could check if blocking the IP address of protesidenext.com in the hosts file on your system would stop the alerts.

If you're happy with simply disabling notifications of events, you can just let it be as it is.

    Have a nice day!

    you're so right.

ADWcleaner found one item, but it wasn't the one in question.

I will try the clean up option now...
Blocking the IP Address… sounds complicated? or is it quite simple?

    Thanks.

I'm sorry, I meant to say block IP address in the Firewall. You can block the domain protesidenext.com in the hosts file. It's as simple as editing a text file in notepad.

The instructions are at the link below
    https://www.techrepublic.com/blog/wi...ws-hosts-file/

You need to add the entry
    127.0.0.1 protesidenext.com

When you said to do the clean up in Chrome, it didn't find any harmful software etc... But I did the restore settings one and by the looks of it, it has cured it.

ive since re enabled the notifications too.

    Fingers crossed eh.

    Thanks again.

I had suggested resetting chrome settings as well after cleanup in one of my earlier posts but you must have not noticed it. Anyway, I'm glad it's gotten rid of whatever was causing the issue. Let's hope it stays that way. Be wary of bundleware when you download software from the Internet. Take care.

Look at the website that gets flagged. It is known to serve up malware. "protesidenext.com"
