    Internet Security

I don’t know if I should be asking this question on this forum, but here goes anyway. I’ve been a Kaspersky user for 15+ years & never had any hackers or malicious stuff access my computer in that time. Would there be much difference between the 2019 & 2018 which I’m using now?

    Hi.
If I'm not mistaken, Kaspersky is a subscription, so it will continue to update as necessary until it's time for you to renew.

I decided a while ago not to use Kaspersky software because my bank no longer provided a free licence and various published security concerns.

I've been fine using Defender augmented by offline scans by AdwCleaner and Malwarebytes.

Not getting into the geopolitics of it all, Kaspersky products are among the top security products scoring pretty well in tests performed by AV test labs. I use their Anti-Ransomware Tool for Business. You can choose to use them or avoid them for a varied number of reasons. However, if you're not sure, here's a good video on the subject

As for what's new in 2019 versions, here's a link to one of their blog pages
    Securing the year 2019

In a nutshell, the 2019 versions seem to feature performance improvements, improved security based on a combination of behavioral analysis and machine learning, better integration with Windows 10, default adware deletion and better user experience among other things.

If your current license for the 2018 version of their product is ending and if you think that the new version is worthy of an upgrade, go for it else you can stay with the current version.

    Hope that helps.

Kaspersky products are fine for the ordinary home user, even PC security Channel says that.

From the blog post that I linked above
For those of you who are already using 2018 or earlier versions of our solutions, you can upgrade to newer versions free simply by installing them. No need to delete the older version, and your license will remain intact.
Download links are also available at the end of that blog post.
