    Hmm, I'll have to see if I may be able to find a way to add it to the context menu inside the Recycle Bin.

    I can easily add it to the context menu when you right click on the Recycle Bin, but it doesn't work there. I'm having no luck for adding it to the context menu inside the Recycle Bin.

    UPDATE:

    I can add "Secure Delete" to the context menu when you right click on the Recycle Bin, but it will only secure delete the "C" (Windows) drive Recycle Bin for the current user, and it doesn't refresh the icon on the desktop until you open it next.

    More work to do. I'm not sure how to go about included the Recycle Bin for other unknown drive letters for a universal solution.

    @tfwul

    Using this below will add "Secure Delete" to the Recycle Bin context menu, but it will only secure erase the "C" drive Recycle Bin of the current user. It will also restart explorer to refresh the Recycle Bin icon.

    You can manually add to the command for other drive letters, but I'm not sure about how to have it automatically work for all internal drive letters on a system.

    Code:
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}\shell\SecureDelete]
    @="Secure Delete"
    "NoWorkingDirectory"=""
    "Position"="top"
    "Icon"="imageres.dll,-5320"

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}\shell\SecureDelete\command]
    @="cmd /c \"sdelete -p 3 -s \"C:\\$Recycle.Bin\\*\" && taskkill /f /im explorer.exe & start explorer.exe\""

    So, it is not about drive wiping or wiping free space.
    Just about securely deleting files from the recycle.bin.
    Why so much emphasis / concern on securely deleting file as unrecoverable ? I have nothing to hide, file to recycle bin then empty recycle bin , works just fine

    @Brink

    What's standard, 3 passes or 7?

    7 takes a long time with a full Bin!!!

    Thanks for the code, btw!

    It's more of a personal preference. The more passes the less likely it can be recovered, but the longer it will take.

    Discarded corporate documents with sensitive information, perhaps.

    Thanks a lot Brink! Super.
    A note though, with me, nothing seems to be deleted.

    How to securely delete selected files in the Recycle.bin ...-snagit-30122018-055742.png

    A lot of things seem to happen.
    Sdelete is called on (I had to agree to the terms), taskbar is refreshing, etc.
    However, the files are still there.

    Assume they ought to be removed from the Recyle.bin?

    thanks.
