Does it include update for antimalware platform?

    "%ProgramFiles%\Windows Defender\MpCmdRun.exe" "-SignatureUpdate"

Does the above include update for antimalware platform?

The links there say nothing about updates for antimalware platform, the main point of this thread.

    Clue:
    "Checks for new definition updates"

If I refer to the following link: Configure and manage Windows Defender Antivirus with the mpcmdrun.exe command-line tool and take into account information (noting the Next Generation Protection) inside the PDF file linked to Windows Defender Advanced Threat Protection (Windows Defender ATP), I'd say the mpcmdrun.exe command line above should include updates for anti-malware definitions.

I know -SignatureUpdate denotes "Checks for new definition updates".
But will it install updates for antimalware platform?

I think you mean this PDF file: https://wincom.blob.core.windows.net...Comparison.pdf
"Next Generation Protection" makes no mention of antimalware platform.

Under Next Generation Protection, there is "Machine learning and AI based protection from viruses and malware threats" even for Windows Home. I take it that means WDA includes protection against malware. Or, your "antimalware platform" means another thing?

Does "WDA" stand for "Windows Defender Antimalware"?
When I say "antimalware platform", I mean "Windows Defender antimalware platform".

I agree that the command line includes updates for anti-malware definitions.
But does it include updates for anti-malware platforms.

Definitions are not the same as platforms.
