    MalwareBytes Detects Safe File All the Time.. What to do?


    I got firefox installed. When i run Malwarebytes it identifies and quarantines 'pref.js' in the firefox directory. But its supposed to be a needed and safe file which is part of firefox. After its quarantined and I run Malwarebytes again, it detects it again! Why is this happening and what do i do about this?

    The file is probably being recreated, you can set the file to be ignored.

    You can always post on the MB forum to confirm the false positive & if confirmed they’ll Correct it.

    Same here, I finally excluded it and it's not showing now. It seems to be part of FF and does get recreated every time. Now there's quite a few of them with different numbers:
