PC infected? Windows Defender Shows Threats Found

    Hi All

Windows Defender Shows Threats Found -7438 after a full scan, not sure if false positive or not, i have check with Malicious Software Removal tool--Nothing, ADW Cleaner (again nothing), Malwarebytes Full scan nothing. Or another lovely bug in 1809 LOL, did report on the Feedback Hub as well, not that it will do any good I don't think lol

It is surely a bug, it cannot be a a false positive given the negative number.

I have been testing AVAST Free lately on less powerful machines and I fount it too bloated for my taste. It's not the product it used to be.

So far left it alone, aka Defender still activated, as thers no performance problems, despite that issue was alarming after first full scan,.

Decided to stay with Defender after clean install on 10/3 for Desktop, and left laptop same (upgraded via Windows update on that one) but not seeing same issue, so stil a bit uneasy continuing to use it, my systems are powerful enough for Avast if I choose to switch, just not sure yet

Did you check Threat history? If defender found something it would put the files in Quarantine. Don't think other would find anything in there..

although this was probably quick scan. Next time when you plan to leave the system for 15 mins, take offline scan. But think you're system is clean.
