Now Windows 10 is really starting to piss me off. Even after reinstall, I formated the SSD if you're wondering and I still get that "Some settings are managed...". Didn't try to run the .bat file yet but I doubt it will work, in some tutorials I saw that you need gpedit.msc file which should be on SysWOW64 even on Windows 10 and it isn't there for me.

You could remove WD's policies or all policies, it should reset them, but it might also break something.
So always backup, like using system imaging (Aoemi or Macrium) prior to trying out anything "extreme".

    Code:
    reg delete "HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows Defender" /f
    Code:
    reg delete "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies" /f
    reg delete "HKCU\Software\Policies" /f
    reg delete "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Policies" /f
    reg delete "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies" /f
    reg delete "HKLM\Software\Policies" /f
    reg delete "HKLM\Software\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Policies" /f
    reg delete "HKLM\Software\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies" /f
    reg delete "HKLM\Software\WOW6432Node\Policies" /f
    reg add "HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows NT\Terminal Services"

I had the same message on one of my PCs, identical machines, both clean install of Windows 10. If I remember correctly I fixed it by examining my settings on the offending machine. Turned out it was something silly like metered connection being checked.

This reminds me. Just recently Windows was trying to fix or do something by auto-downloading a few (less than 10, probably 6) MBs of forgot-what. It couldn't or wouldn't. I found out later that having a metered connection was preventing it from continuing. Apparently, that many MBs is considered large in a metered connection. I had set my connection to metered following tips on preventing unintended Windows updates.

Try this. It works for me.
A lot of settings don't actually stick.

I have no problem using it, so far.

Before the itechtics GPE fix, I had only Policy Plus! to depend on, though it's not actually the same as the original GPE. And gpsearch only for reference.

Try creating an SRP (Software Restriction Policy) in Windows 10 Home. It has no effect.

Settings are totally ignored. The file still launches.

    That's just one example.

Hmm. Yep, not sticking. Never used GPE in such application before. I just followed what you showed in the pics, and did not make changes to the other rules.

So far, what I have set using the GPE relevant to Windows Update and Windows Defender, for instance, are sticking.

Some stick and some don't. You have to test each setting if possible.

This one actually works on Home, when applied via registry.

This is a good tool to use SRP on Home.
