Any way to permanently disable automatic scans in Windows Defender?
The stupid thing is set to perform a quick scans every day. I'd have to spend all my time downloading the most vile porn from sites in the darkest depths of the internet to need my AV to automatically scan my computer this often.
I've disabled the auto scans in task scheduler, but they get turned on again after every Windows update, which is a nuisance. Is there some way to make this setting stick permanently?
I am a power user and practice safe browsing. The AV is just there as a precaution, I don't need it performing scans 24/7 without my approval.
I know it stops the scan when I take the computer out of idle, but I don't want it doing anything without my approval.
Or is my only option third party AV?
I have Windows 10 Home Edition.
