Problem removing false MS porn warning

Have a customer with 2 W-10 PCs, a his and hers. Older couple, been servicing their PCs for years.
About a month ago, they started receiving the false porn virus warning and the only way they could get out of it was to manually shut down the PC. Networked with a Comcast Gateway, have Defender and Bitdefender on both.
Cleaned both PCs with Malwarebytes, HitmanPro. Cleaned all temp etc files. OK for about a month and now coming back on both PCs again.
Anything different anyone has come up with in cleaning this crap.
Interestingly came back on one PC only then spread to second within a week.

The reappearance could be due to new bundled downloads as compared to an uncleaned PC.
This link has a nice video that displays how they get installed.
And it has additional suggestions to fix browsers.

Put them both on Firefox, install the new Malwarebytes extension, HTTPS Everywhere, and another which we are not allowed to discuss. That should prevent reinfection.

    Thanks for replying.
    Edge is the default browser.
Haven't used Farbar in a while. Doesn't HitmanPro do the same?
simrick, I hate the thought of going back 15 years when we told anuone worrying about viruss to use Firefox.
Looking at some of our browser security ratings, Chrome and Firefox run neck and neck. (Bit and Bit?)
    Both can use HTTPS Everywhere.
They're browsing is pretty much limited to fishing reports and movie reviews so I'll see if they can handle the browser change.
A lot of my customers are senior citizens and are pretty well set in their browsing habits.
We try to make it as safe as possible without having them going thru any drastic change.

    Thanks for your help.

FF is not only a safer browser, it also offers better privacy. The Malwarebytes extension is available for FF; not Edge. Adding this extension will make a huge difference.

If they can deal with the browser change, it will be better for them.
Also, please make sure Internet Explorer is completely RESET.

Doesn't matter if they use it or not; infections will modify settings here to get their junk through.

    Good luck!

Finished cleaning both PCs with "everything" available.
Couldn't pinpoint any actual culprit except for "Brighttag.com which showed up on both PCs and cleaned by Adwcleaner.
This might have been the cause???

    Hi.
I think Brighttag is a redirect virus. Could have been the problem, yes.
