Im looking for a paid/free firewall that you can block all network activity from the taskbar.
Anyone know of any?

TinyF has not been updated for years. If you want something that simple, then maybe Free Firewall.

I use an old version of CFW but installation and configuration is a pain if you don't know how to set it up.

I use the newest version of CFW and I think it is the best firewall out there....Like you said it just takes some time to figure out how to properly set it up,which there are many tutorials for that info,and then you are GTG.
I have been using it for probably 15 years now on every PC I have ever had and have not had any problems that couldn't be sorted out.
As you can tell I like Comodo products and on another topic is I like Firefox but I use the one from Comodo instead which is called "Comodo IceDragon Browser"and Comodo uses FF for its template and it looks and works identical to FF and it has a couple different things which I think makes it a little safer that just using FF.

You could keep the standard Windows firewall and disable the network adapter if that's all you need the firewall for Enable or Disable Network Adapters in Windows
You could use a batch files for Options 3/4. You can use airplane mode on a laptop.

Seems in 1809 Windows is forcing (?enforcing telemetry) firewall rules...
In TinyWall one has to select "Allow Outgoing" or lose connectivity, and in Windows Firewall Control, it won't allow "Medium Filtering" to stick and immediately changes it to "Low Filtering"
This big brother bullsh!t is not on!
Time to get a complete 3rd party firewall!

Comodo is the best (imo) free and absolutely configurable firewall.
Users who want an extra firewall, usually, don't face difficulties when configure it.
Also, Windows firewall, although is a powerful one, is not an easy to use solution and it has to be turned off (recommended by all except MS of course) if another firewall has been installed.
Using an external firewall, users can easily see how MS...takes care of us, almost every minute...Last edited by HeM; 14 Oct 2018 at 20:18.
