beginning yesterday, after startuo is finished, a notice pops up with some scandalous news headline with picture. It is identified as "freeformnow.com". Doing a bit of research I learned it is a malicious PUP which my antivirus (malwarebytes.com) didn't find. Anyone able to help please?

Thanks for your reply. I was out of town on a family issue and just got back last night. Unfortunately, your suggestion did not succeed, although, contrary to what you said your explation was very clear, easy to follow. Kudos to you for that. Regarding my problem, I first scanned with malwarebytes, to which already subscribed, That not working, I signed up to hitman (?), same result. I'd appreciate any other suggestions. The ads are coming faster by the day.

So you followed those steps outlined in document.
When you say not working is it they are not finding the infection or it is finding them and they are be resurrected?
Did you reset your browser?

Then, you must reset all browsers on the system - every one, even those you don't use.
