    Virus in physical drive1


    Avast is telling that there is virus in my physical drive1. I have 4 hard drives. How do I know that which one is physical drive1

    You can download WinObj from SysInternals. Once open click File > Run as Administrator. Look under the Device subtree. You will see the disks as they are identified starting at harddisk0. Once you identify your disk select it and look at the Partition symlinks to identify the \Device\HarddiskVolume# name and go to the GLOBAL?? subtree. From here you can match up the drive letter to the \Device\HarddiskVolume# to identify where malware is being detected.

    Whether the Disk 0, disk 1, disk 2, disk 3 showing in Disk Management are not the physical drive numbers.

    Yes that is true. There is no correlation between physical ports and how Windows detects the drives. You may need to contact Avast about whether they do there own detection on ordering of drives or if they use what Windows reports. If the latter then either WinObj or diskpart should be consistent with Avast.
