    Where's the "Install anyway"?

The newest feat of Win10 seems to be that it intercepts the installation of certain programs but now without offering a More … => Install anyway option!
What's this supposed to improve? If there is no other work-around for well-known programs then one will have to disable Windows' security altogether to force certain installations. Now, that is definitely much safer!

Later addition: this is getting more and more infuriating! Even disabling real-time protection and all other WIn10 security features doesn't help and does not allow me to install that app!
I have scanned that file, dammit! I *want* to install it (and I am taking the responsibility!) - so why does this darn OS not let me?

What the heck were these folks smoking?

Hi, which program are you having difficulty with?

What is the build of your Windows?
    Windows key + R, winver

What is the precise error message? Can you post a screenshot? Thanks.

Could it be you're running Win 10S ?

Have you set Windows to only install from the store as that will stop everything not from store

It's called "calibre" - it's an e-book reader and -mgmt. prgm.

It's a blueish popup declaring that "Windows protected your PC". There is a link underneath stating "More...". When clicking that there used to appear a second button "Install anyway". Now the only thing appears is the name of the file (interesting!) and the remark: "Publisher: Unknown publisher". Unknown to whom?

Definitely not! I would never run such a dummified version. Before that I would be off to Linux!

I just detected that under "App & browser control" the setting for "Check apps and files" was set to "Block'. Must have been a change caused by some recent windows update. I definitely never have set it to that! After changing this to "Warn" the "Install anyway"-button resurfaced!

Great you spotted that. The Smartscreen reference in the message was the key. Several simple tutorials available.
