    Mpsigstub - What is it?

    Hello all,

I have a folder under root C which is named a random selection of letters & numbers. In that folder is a file called Mpsigstub.exe? Looks like it appeared back in 2015.

I right clicked properties and there's no name saying who its from?

    What is it?
    Should I delete it?

MPSigStub.exe Windows process - What is it?

    - note the locations mentioned, which seem non-specific

You could send yours to Virustotal for analysis (just search for Virustotal)

It's even possible it's something left over from a previous version of Windows from which you upgraded, if you did that.

However lacking info in the Details fields sounds odd.

Tried to delete via Windows Explorer, but it says I need Administrator permission. But I am the administrator?

Any other ideas on how to delete?

You can delete pretty much anything if
    - you use Emco MoveonBoot (also restarts to delete) - free
    - you use FileAssassin - free
    - you boot to either
    - an offline command prompt (eg. via SHIFT + left click restart etc
    - a live boot disk such as Kyhi's from the top of the Software and Apps section here (or even a Windows bootable medium and via Repair Your PC to a command prompt)
