Off topic. I can't PM anybody due to short membership. The window on this forum goes all the way to the top with no address bar, home button or anything showing at the top. Is there a setting on this site that I can change. None of my other forums do this. Sorry for the off topic intrusion.

I recreated the shortcut for this forum and there is a tick box there that says "open as window". I unticked that and it is opening like normal.

Please move this if you want and again I apologize for posting off topic.

After yesterdays debacle with Microsoft (when the rep removed all the Windows Modules Installer , created a restore point which disappeared after the call) and I created a new restore point yesterday, today again I have the Windows Modules Installer shown again in CCleaner. So in effect, she didn't do anything other than removing the WM installers. Darn Microsoft!

Well ... Appears WD/WMI creating these daily restore points is here to stay for awhile ...

I run Win10 Pro Insiders Preview (1809-17741) in a VM ... Figured I'd check to see if WD/WMI is creating restore points (in hopes this change had been removed, but noooooooo) ... WD/WMI is creating restore points in this version, which will be Win10 1809 (Redstone 5) with an expected released date in Sept. 2018. Now ... there is a chance that they could undo/remove this change before the final release, but I wouldn't bet money on it.

Thinking about some of the things Windows CU can do, maybe an abundance of Restore Points isn't such a bad idea.

I've kept them both. Kind of like the guy wearing Suspenders AND a belt. I may well follow your lead and cut System Restore off.

You're more help than you probably know. Thanks @Eagle51

I have disabled System Restore now too, because I usually make a lot of full backups using MR Free.

Learned something today ... Since I turned off System Restore because of the WD/WMI daily restore points, I just assumed that System Restore would remain turned off until such time I turned it back on ... Appears that's not the case ... I needed to update Intel Driver & Support Assistant today ... it turned on System Restore and created a restore point ... I wonder what else can turn on System Restore ???
