There is no option to disable HIPS. I can only set it to "Rule-based Mode", which will actually disable all advanced protection, including anti-ransomware.
So I should have checked. The only way is to use V273
Anyway for current version setting HIPS to "Auto" with "Notify" as default action works fine for me.Code:https://www.wisevector.com/WiseVector_StopX_V27.exe

So I did a test. With HIPS set to either rule based or automatic (I tested both) - with protections all disabled via the system try icon right click menu the script that you provided previously didn't trigger an alert and it was removed from exclusions list before running the tests.
Running the command from Command Prompt will not trigger an alert whether the protections have been enabled or disabled. Running the command from a script will do so with the protections enabled.
