Or simply "I don't have a computer" works.

There are applications in the app-store/google-play store - to block these Spam numbers. Where people can approve spam callers onto the block call lists.

    Just letting you know.

The scammer wasn't very happy when after a few minutes I told him I was using Linux Mint.

    I do that too.
I get the calls at least once a week and NEVER has the word Microsoft been mentioned, always only Windows with different following words such as Technical Support or Repair Service. If they were to say Microsoft they could be in a legal world-of-hurt considering Trademarks, Copyrights, etc. We are so conditioned to associate Windows with Microsoft we tend to hear what we want to.

That's what I do. First I'll act concerned and let them go through their sales pitch. I love wasting their time. When I finally had enough I'll say, Did you say this is a problem on my Windows computer? After the say yes I'll tell them that's strange I have a Apple computer.

Every call I received they said Microsoft Windows. I doubt they're worried about Trademark Copyrights.

If your phone carrier supports Nomorobo it will help to stop most spam calls. Stop robocalls and telemarketers with Nomorobo

I don't hang up. I just tell them I need to attend to something then just leave them hanging there wasting money on a useless phone call and wasting their time!

You could have background scenes like a BBQ, party or a shouting match lol.
