    Notification - Check virus protection

    Hi

I have recently being advised by Notification to check virus protection.

Dialog reads: Windows Defender Antivirus and multiple other antivirus apps are turned off.
Tap or click to see installed antivirus.

After clicking on a dialog box appears Titled Security and Maintenance and advises of installed virus protection off:
    Malwarebytes off
    Webroot SecureAnywhere off
    Windows Defender antivirus off

Clicking on each to turn on results in nothing happening.

I have searched forum, Google and have tried gpedit.msc and searched Settings to try and find a solution.
I also get : *some settings are hidden or managed by your organization.

I don't fully understand because I am the Administrator of this computer or am I missing the obvious.

I would be highly appreciative if anyone can assist or advise to rectify this problem.

    Hi noels7,

When you open Malwarebytes and go to Settings, scroll down to Windows Action Center, which of the 3 options is checked?

    Hi axe0

The 3rd option. Always register Malwarebytes in the Windows Action Center.

4th Option: Completely remove Malwarebites from your computer.

A possible quick solution, if you haven't tried it yet, is to reinstall Malwarebytes by either overwriting the current installation or first removing the installation and after a reboot install again.

In the process of completely uninstalling including regedit.
    Then will have another install.

Please run winver and let us know the Win10 version you have.

Is one of the listed anti-virus programs a paid for version?

Set Malwarebytes to never register in Action centre as if it is set to always or let Windows decide it takes over as the main AV software so affects Defender.
I’d also remove webroot or check to see if there’s a similar setting as for MB.
