    Hi

I have been able to fix the problem after finding the solution on you tube.
It required a modification within Regedit.
Namely: HKLM Software Microsoft Policies Windows Defender amend Dword to disable WD.
Then WD was able to be turned on in Settings.
I have not been nagged by the notification and WD is active. I should alsosay that I finally got rid of
Malwarebytes as it has for some time been problematical.

Many thanks for your assistance and advice. Appreciated.
