I looking forward to reading others' opinions of Reimage.
I wouldn't touch it, or any other 'tune up your PC' software. I do use CCleaner, but only for removing junk files - 'cleaning' the registry can be a recipe for disaster. This is a typical opinion...

    PCacceleratePro: junkware/scareware, or worse

Reimage Repair: not much better; for basic computer users, such programs can cause more harm than good.

Many of your stability issues may be the result of having run these (and similar) programs...

I purchased CCleaner along with some of the other products from Piriform back in 2015. Now I get monthy emails prompting me to buy the latest version. Yet, when I just opened up CCleaner Professional, it upgraded to the latest version v5.43.6522. I should use it again to get rid of junk in my temporary files.

I had read in some online computer article that Macecraft Software was helpful. I ended up having to use a prior restore point. I learned my lesson about using software to tinker with or "optimize" the registry.

On the flipside, what's everyone's favorite AV?

I have been using Norton products for about thirty years. From reading comments in this thread, I am under the impression that Norton might not be the best. Because of this thread, I now have Malwarebytes installed, though not running. I understand that one should not run two antivirus software applications at the same time. If I have more issues again with viruses that Norton can't solve, then I will be inclined to disable Norton and pay for the professional version of Malwarebytes to solve the problem. I am still interested, however, in everyone else's opinion as to the better anti-virus applications.

Glad to hear you sorted it out. As for your query about favourite AV programs, just check the forum (it's a recurrent question) or open a new separate thread.

Thank you for your comment. I did a quick search on favorite AV programs. I am all set now.
