Flash player may be out of date scam
I get this flash player out of date scam
--- I call it a scam, but if it’s in a different category, please let me know.
I went to Microsoft’s feedback hub but I’ll have to pay more attention to some details before complaining there.
--- This is not only an annoying problem but it’s also a potential security problem.
Even though there is follow-up information of my situation, my bottom line is going to be
--- What can I do about eliminating this problem?
This morning I was on my EDGE Start page and checked out some news items.
--- Then I started playing Pyramid in the Microsoft Solitaire Collection as a Guest.
--- When I closed out Pyramid, the Flash player may be out of date was up on the screen.
--- I don’t recall if the Start page was still up or if it was replaced by Flash player may be out of date
--- I’ll have to pay attention to that next time.
Here is a representative screenshot of the Flash player may be out of date
--- It’s what I selected for the screenshot with some description included
Here is a representative screenshot of Windows Defender details
Naturally I am more than unhappy about that.
Trojan:JS/Flafisi.D always is included in the Windows Defender details and that’s a scary potential issue.
It’s easy enough to get around the issue by restarting Windows Defender but that is not a solution.
I’ve also run MBAM Premium 14-day free trial before restarting Windows Defender but it comes up clean: I suppose it’s because the Trojan:JS/Flafisi.D hasn’t infected the computer.
--- At the Senior Center where I volunteer I see the same issue on computers using Windows Defender
--- What’s scaring is those users just restart the computer and just go along with it.
--- However, I know of 3 users with McAfee and another one with Norton and they haven’t seen that problem even once. Coincidence? I don’t know. But it’s fact at this point in time.
--- In the Microsoft Hub feedback, someone said they use AVG and have a similar problem but I couldn’t tell if they have the exact problem I’m trying to attend to.
