Sounds like it may be. Unlocker has almost always worked for me but you said you tried it.

You could also try booting a Win 10 install flash drive or DVD then press Shift+F10 at the first window. That will open a Command Prompt but you won't be booted from the installed system.

Then you could use commands from the Command Prompt window to try to get rid of it.

What is the complete path of the folder? We can provide you with the command to use from the COmmand Prompt windo, that may work.

    Nope. Same message.
    1. Download avastclear.exe on your desktop
    2. Start Windows in Safe Mode
    3. Open (execute) the uninstall utility
    4. If you installed Avast in a different folder than the default, browse for it. (Note: Be careful! The content of any folder you choose will be deleted!)
    5. Click REMOVE
    6. Manually remove any remnants.
    7. Empty trash bin.
    8. Restart your computer

You don't need to boot Linux if you do not feel comfortable using it. Boot a w10PE BootCD like Kyhi's or W10XPE.

I just realized that one of the reasons why unlocker didn't work, might have been because windows seems to have some issues signing me into the build in administrator account. I was able to sign into the build in administrator account though, and i just tried downloading avastclear and running it from safemode. It finally works, and i got rid of the folders.

Keep looking for stray AVAST leftovers. You may still find some scheduled task or something here and there. I advice running SysInternals' AutoRUNS.

Revo, also. If you don't have it, you can get the 30 day trial, which will allow Revo's deep down turbo nuking of stubborn leftovers using forced uninstall. It's very good.

I have already tried revo, it didn't solve this problem.

I did a look to see if i could find something, but i didn't find anything from avast. I did find a leftover folder from avast in program data though, so i got rid of that as well.

In using the Forced Uninstall of Revo, it is that leftover folder you should have used in the forced options. That tells Revo to anaylyze it, and go after anything remotely connected, and present you with the folder/file/appdata/registry it finds for your approval. That's how it works.

Yes, but revo wasn't able to get rid of avast. I had to boot in safemode using the build in administrator account, and use the avastclear program to get rid of it. It was the only solution, i have tried everything else.
