    Just read the other post of yours, sounds like same issue.

    Get permission to delete folders - Windows 10 Forums

    Get the trial version (30 days) of Revo Uninstaller, and do a Forced Uninstall on AVAST.

    Yes, i tried that as well. Avast is already uninstalled, it's a leftover folder that i can't seem to get rid of again.

    What about my suggestion in post #12? Getting the trial of Revo and forcing uninstall.

    Boot a Live Linux flash drive or DVD, you can delete it from there.

    the method I've had success with for Avast removal, (and other AV Suites), in the past is to re-install the complete suite and then use either Revo Pro or the specific system removal tool from the developer to uninstall

    Using the Uninstall Utility for Avast Antivirus | Official Avast Support

    Seems a bit of a weird way to go but it has worked in the past

    If the folders are in Program files, or Program Files (x86) then they will be owned by TustedInstaller by default and so will need the use of the Hidden Administrator to remove (or an external OS such as a Linux live ).

    The problem is that due to the way that malware is these days there is an extra layer of security in place the trustedinstaller Virtual user is placed above the administrators group to get this to work.

    Enable and log in as the hidden administrator [ tutorial is available on this site if not sure how ], and carefully take ownership and delete the folders concerned, obviously you should logout from, and re-hide the, hidden administrator

    @Cerawy

    It probably will not show in the list of installed apps because you have removed the actual app. Use the Forced Uninstall option. Browse to the Avast folder in question, choose it, and check the Advanced scan /clean option.

    Beware manually deleting AVAST leftovers from WinSxS folder. It might render your system unuseable.
