Is one supposed to use cmd and flush dns after editing the host file ?
    Code:

I don't, it might make sense if you were on a mining page, but there is no need to, as that can slow browsing down.
You're system will need to get the ip addresses all over again, to the sites you visit frequently.

    Hi,
I didn't have much if any host list before so it was only about dozen or so text lines lol :)
I pretty much delete everything on exit so frequent websites not needed :)

But flush dns wouldn't effect the new list would it ?

    Some more interesting reading..

Monero differs from Bitcoin in that its transactions are virtually untraceble, and there is no way for an outsider to track Monero transactions between two parties. Naturally, this quality makes Monero an especially appealing choice for cybercriminals.

A former member here NoelC I think was his name wrote a host compiler program that helps to keep the file updated and you can find it in the link below. Been using it for a while and it works well

OK, I got to experimenting here and find that, on my system at least, the file apparently gets so long (53,725 lines combined) it not only slows down, but will actually not open sites. Reverting back to the shorter version and everything is back to normal.

I fell victim to a browser coin miner just this week on a well known company's website. The moderator confirmed the code was maliciously placed and has since been removed.

I first noticed my CPU temps were very high on the desktop and thought my cooler had failed and brought a replacement! I then noticed the high CPU utilization of Chrome in Task Manager and eventually found the culprit website. Apparently if I had Malwarebyte's premium I would have been protected.

Are there any Chrome extensions you guy's have preferences on or is this host file the way to go? Cheers!
