This still doesn't work? I've tried doing what you've told me, deleting the files inside that Download folder and nothing happens.
Tell a lie, actually something does happen.
I open up CMD (ran as admin) and I type the code "wuauclt.exe /updatenow" and then it downloads the update for windows 10 for about 1 millisecond then it finds a problem. The EXACT same error number AGAIN.
    Anyway to fix this?

I`d suggest after letting it all download , disconnect from the web / pull out plug - then turn off your firewall and virus checker & any malware software you have running .

I didn't get a notification saying I can install windows 10, but I've tried these methods, is that why?
And btw, even if i haven't received a notification, would this work?
    Windows 10
Considering the windows10 is out now, win7 and win8.1 users get it for free.
Should I download it from the Microsoft website?

I'm currently in the process of installing Windows 10 Home through the Installer Tool, rather than Windows Update.
I've set it to save everything on the computer, files, programs, etc.

Mate, what you posted is posted everywhere, and as you see they're trying this method.
Doesn't work for all laptops, location doesn't matter. Hope that's clear now.

    P.S. No offence please.
No offense taken. It worked great here on my PC and my Samsung Ativ laptop from Windows 8.1.

Oh sweet! But theres 1 thing I need to ask,
Do you use the key that Windows have emailed you? Or the one that you used to activate the current windows you are using right now?

I actually have no idea about that.... (I created a System Restore just in case)
And Microsoft emailed a code?! When?

I think that they will generate a new code for me... Or i'll enter into my MS Account and it'll verify.

While creating installation media will allow users to perform a clean installation, Microsoft has stressed that users won’t get Windows 10 for free unless they upgrade their qualified system first.
So if you try the tool, your PC will not have a license. You have to use the upgrade app (Windows Update)

The tool asks you to input your Windows key at the start , there is a skip option (as did Windows 8) and you`d then probably need to input the key to register the installation (also like Windows 8) .
I`ve read that the tool scans your pc and gets the key itself if you skip it - all ways you`re covered .
