Build 10162 will not update to 10166

I had the same problem with build 10130 not updating to 10162. I had to upgrade with the preview iso.
Running it in Oracle VM VirtualBox

    What is going on?

I too have been unable to obtain update 10166. After my office partner managed the upgrade on his nearly identical hardware, I finally deleted my old WIndows 10 Preview install and initiated a new install of 10162. Even with that re-build I still cannot obtain 10166.

I am indeed logged in with my Windows Account. Can find no obvious reason why it keeps saying "No updates available"

Not just a Microsoft Account, but the exact same Microsoft account you registered with the Insider program with. You also have to validate your account in your copy of windows by entering the code Microsoft sends you in email.

Ok I found the problem. I was clicking on Start->Power->Restart to update. But the update never happened.
I just happen to scroll down in the updates window and I found a RESTART button. I clicked on it and the update worked.

I would have thought the OS would know I was restarting when clicking on Start->Power->Restart.

This morning, without doing anything except boot Windows 10 (10162) and attempt the Windows Update, it found and is currently downloading fbl_impressive Professional 10166. Perhaps it didn't update yesterday because so many people were requesting the update and it just put me off a bit?

Anyway, unless the update fails my problem seems to have resolved itself.

    Thanks for the tips.

Hello, I have kinda same problem here. I can't update to 10166 from 10162. Currently my Windows 10 (10162) had iso install from Win 8.1.

When update is downloaded, computer restarts, but when it's installing new update of the preview, instalation from boot just cancel and it load my old preview (10162) back from backup. Any ideas? I think, if I can get iso with my native language, it (instalation) will be works fine.

Now that update computer is downloading for 3 times, always download finish fine but instalation always without success...

I have not seen your symptoms. I wish you good luck resolving it.

Microsoft should release a 10166.iso soon I would think.

It's been stated several times that cross-language upgrades are not supported, so that may be the issue.
