    Reserve Windows 10 not responding

Hey, yesterday I finally got the 'reserve windows 10' icon to appear on the taskbar after several rounds of updates. Today it is gone, but when I go to windows update there is a blue banner asking me to reserve it there... It has a button and everything Problem is, the button isn't responding. What can I do?

I have windows 7 home (something) 64 bit.

Today, I have received a little pop-up window saying: (hp) Windows 10 is here!
Unfortunately, when I click on it, I get the little blue wheel spinning around forever.
There is also another pop-up window saying : Get prepared for Microsoft Windows 10!
But when I try to click on it, the window disappears. I can point my mouse on it on the task bar, and get a miniaturized view of it, but I cannot click on it or enlarge it.
I hope this is not an indicator of what the Windows 10 experience will be like!

    Update:

I used HP Support Assistant to update my computer, but was told I cannot proceed until I get some blank CDs to create a backup disk. I also asked about a rumor that Windows 10 does not have the option to Hide Desktop Items. I was told this is true, which is an immediate turn-off for me! I have a beautiful scenic photo on my desktop, and will NOT allow desktop icons to clutter it. I will keep Windows 8.1 for now, but when Microsoft ends support of that (like they did for my beloved XP), I will search for an alternative OS - perhaps Linux Mint Cinnamon Rafaela (I have it on disk) or Apple OS?
