Windows 10 expiring activation problem

I have used this 'company' for years with no problems, they are NZ wide.

You get Pro version by just entering the Windows 10 Pro generic product key from Microsoft's website. See the last link here:

The problem is the "reputable company" only did the first three steps. They did not have a valid product key to finish the rest of the procedure with. After you upgrade from Home to Pro by entering the Windows 10 Pro generic product key there has to be either a digital entitlement from an upgrade from Windows 7/8/8.1 Pro or a valid Pro product key to enter to activate it.

You can install either version from the install media downloaded from Microsoft. But, as you have found, when it comes time to activate you need the right version for the product key you are using. I would guess the thoughtful person who did the upgrade has not done many as surely it wouldn't take long to discover its important to choose the correct version (via any previous customers who are running into the same problem during the past year). They should also have completed the task of activating- which would have revealed 'their' problem.

If not paying attention, it can be easy to make the mistake (although intentional in this case). With Win8, the stickers on the pc are not much help if you are not familiar with them (core version gives no indication on sticker, pro does show 'Pro')- and if you have a Bing version of Win8 and want to reinstall Win8- its an easy mistake to install Win8 Core and end up scratching your head why it will not activate (and then try to come up with a Bing version of Win8 after you removed the recovery partition).

Bud, I'm referring to "no physical address"... fact or wot?

Fact, I believed them to be 'reputable' because as I said it is a NZ wide name with other 'branches' throughout the country, and been using them for years with no problems. However they can 'hide' ,obviously.
I'm not expecting a call/email from them even though I've been on to it all week, if not I'll uninstall the Pro version, and hopefully able to install the Home version via Microsoft web site.
