how to hide defender definition update notifications?

I am regularly getting notifications to update windows defender virus definitions.

I don't want to update regulary. I download new database every 6 months or so, and then merge to it.

In w8, in Security and Maintenance, there was a clear option to stop such notifications from appearing. In w10, I am not able to find an exact entry for stopping that. There are general entries for defender and malwarebytes, so I don't know whether unticking them would stop these notifications, or would that stop the defender and malwarebytes process itself.

How to hide defender definition update notifications in w10?

    Thanks.

Hi, how do you hide defender update notifications?

    I just came across this:
The Ultimate Windows Tweaker (free) has an option under its Modern UI tab to disable Toast notifications, but that's all, not just Defender.

Of course you could use a different AV...

Action centre notifications usually have a drop-down option to disable them- don't know about that one as I don't use Defender.

I run a regular software and still see WD updates intrude each time a new Insider build except the one that came out today that is arrived. That or MS Visual C++ Update 4 would be holding thing up until one or both of those disappear to allow the next build on.

With the older versions like 7 you would simply right click on the particular update when found in the list of updates while in the Control Panel>WU and choose the Hide option when then placed a particular update on a list of hidden updates and no longer seen when going to check manually. With 10 you no longer see anything more then the Defer updates check box found in the Advance options. That's how MS simplifies things.
