There's your issue, you installed the N version. You want the regular Windows 10 version. Select Windows 10 (without the N) from the drop down in the MCT.
Where do you see N version?

Can't believe that I can't chose the option without IE....( internet explorer ) I have just reinstalled all my apps....so guess I am stuck now....only thing I can think of is running the upgrade live or from disk, will this then put the full version on, or will updates eventually resolve it
    thanks

PS when I did the live upgrade to Windows 10 I don't remember getting the 'N' choice it was 32 or 64 bit or both as I remember......but the ISO can be downloaded with these choices

I did create the disk with the N version, but can't see how it should matter, will badger MS tomorrow for an authorisation code....once activated it shouldn't matter anymore should it.....??? going to do a true image back up once all apps installed.....

Of course it matters. The licences are not interchangeable due to legal reasons.

MS will not help you as they would be giving you an EXTRA free licence.

Just reinstall correct version or buy an N licence!

All the 'N' version is that it comes without the media package and IE I think....it's still Windows 10 pro....
Will phone MS later and see if they can help....if not will have to start again.....but honestly don't remember having a choice of the 'N' version when doing the in situ upgrade from Windows 7 originally....which means Windows 10N can NEVER be used as a clean install after an upgrade

Following on from this Leeds me to another question.....I want to install Windows 10 on a fairly old PC, but intend doing a clean install as it currently has Vista on it....I have bought a Windows 7 PRO licence.. ( NOT 'N' )
So can I do a clean install of Windows 10 Pro FULL using the Windows 7 product key I have just bought.....or heaven forbid do I need to buy a Windows 7 Pro 'N' licence ??? the 'N' version is apparenlty better for older PC's
    thanks

The N and non N versions each use different Product codes. They are not interchangeable. Your digital entitlement is for the non N version, that's why your N version won't activate. You will have to reinstall the correct version. If your other Windows 7 is a non N, don't install the N version or you will be right back in the same situation you are now. The N version will not accept your regular 7 key.

DVD or USB thumb drive? If thumb drive, make sure its plugged into a USB 2 port, not a USB 3 port.
