    10-4. Over and out for now. I need to work. Someone needs to invent a way to send virtual beers. I need to buy all of you a beer. So, just fly to Baltimore and I'll take you sailing and treat you to beers...what time are you arriving?

    Kidding aside, thanks again. We'll have a couple more posts before we put this one to bed. I'll look for the partition experts to weigh in over the next few says.

    Have a good weekend, Rob

    Rob's partition #3 is the Microsoft Reserved Partition (MSR). I'm not going to debate the necessity of it. MS has their opinion of it and some forum VIP's have their opinion of it. That's all I got to saaay 'bout that....

    this is the result when you do an in place upgrade/repair. An extra partition is created. Just re-do steps 4->7 from post #182

    Hi topgundcp I have a question regarding Rob's 5th partition. Could Rob just use MiniTool and delete partition #5, then extend his C-Drive to take up the unallocated space?? (Rob has already made his image backup right after doing his repair install, which fixed his issues) Or would this do so kind of harm to his Windows OS ?? I was thinking Windows made that 5th partition during the repair install, and what harm would it cause to just delete this partition??

    He can run from Admin command: reagentc /info to find out where the WinRE.wim is. Probably from partition #5 so if he deletes this partition, he'll break Windows Recovery.

    As I said. Re-do step 4->7 will re-align everything.

    Ahh now I understand, if its in partition #5 then deleting it would not be an option. Darn it. Ok topgundcp. I was just trying to find an easy way out.....for Rob. I'm sure now he will check where the WinRE is located. As usual you are correct. :)

    On a fresh install like yours or mine, the result of reagentc /info would be:
    Windows RE status: Enabled
    Windows RE location: \\?\GLOBALROOT\device\harddisk0\partition1\Recovery\WindowsRE

    His would be:
    Windows RE status: Enabled
    Windows RE location: \\?\GLOBALROOT\device\harddisk0\partition5\Recovery\WindowsRE
    @OldMike65,
