When my PC starts up it runs BOOTIT, and I select the OS that I want to run. BOOTIT then changes the disk partition table so that the disk partitons (up to 4 per disk) that I have previously said that I want to use are made available to me. Any partitions that I have not selected appear as 'Unallocated' space in for example Windows 10 Computer Management/Storage/Disk Management.
Bootit then boots the partition that I have said that I want to boot.
