WIN 10 Activated or NOT ?

    Help !
Last weekend I updated my wife's laptop from WIN 8.1 Pro to the free Win 10 Pro. I thought that it updated reasonably well, except that I noticed this morning In 'Control Panel/System' that it says 'Windows is not activated"
But if I click on the 'Activate Windows" button it comes up with a 'Settings/Update & Security page saying' -" Windows 10 Pro ", - Windows is Activated". "Windows 10 on this device is activated with a digital enhancement"

Which am I to believe ?

    Interesting.

Right click at the Start button > click Commend Prompt (Admin) > click Yes > at the flashing prompt, copy and paste this...................

    slmgr /xpr

    > Enter

You should see a message telling you if you are permanently activated.

Ah Think I found the solution. After My Wife Logged in with her Local password, the system page then showed as Windows is activated - VERY Misleading !!

@davidhk - Thank you for your suggestion - the response was "Windows(R) Professional edition: The machine is permanently activated."

    Very Odd !!

    Odd, yes.
Anyway, you can rest easy now knowing that your Win 10 Pro is truly activated.

Please mark your thread as Solved.
    Thank you.

@davidhk hit the nail with a hammer.

That is all you need to know. Looking at activation in system properties or even the activation pane in settings is often behind and does not refresh.

Run /xpr and you'll know truly if you are activated or not.

I switch from VM to native boot often and my activation takes a few minutes to catch up (as the hardware changes). If I open system properties it never refreshes to say activated even if (after a while) it is.
